Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a remote Accounting Specialist who will provide bookkeeping, full-cycle accounting, and administrative support to a US-based virtual Accounting and Tax Firm. The ideal person for this position is a proactive and motivated individual, with a go-getter attitude, and has a strong understanding with US GAAP, bookkeeping and finance.

This opportunity is fit for someone who can work 30-35 hours per week to start but will quickly grow to 40 hours depending on performance. The company is based in Georgia and follows the US Eastern Time Zone.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the same role
  • Accounting & Finance background is a must
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
  • Experience in leading & reviewing work performed by others (i.e bookkeepers)
  • Knowledge with US GAAP principles
  • Tax preparation and planning experience is preferred
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience in the following tools: Asana, G-Suite, Basecamp, and ADP Run Payroll Platform. Zapier is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Full-Cycle Accounting functions on a monthly basis
  • Filling in and perform the monthly tasks of the bookkeepers when necessary
  • Helping with planning/executing processes for bookkeepers
  • Reviewing Financial Statements to confirm proper reconciliation & accurate reporting
  • Ensuring bookkeeper functions (AR, AP, & Payroll) are completed accurately and timely
  • Collaborating with clients to obtain supporting documents or transaction details
  • Coordinating with the Financial Analyst to finalize month-end reporting/tasks (Financial Reporting, AR, AP, & Payroll duties)
  • Completing ad-hoc related tasks that may be necessary to service client
  • QBO/Xero set up for new clients
  • Accounting Clean Up for new clients
  • Bank, CC & Loan Reconciliations
  • AR/AP and Payroll Management
  • Ad hoc related tasks that may be necessary to service clients
  • Prepare basic financial reports & coordinate with Accountant to ensure accuracy
